All in a days work, fighting a giant metal sonic dragon. Saving a falling Island, and the world is at peace once again, right?
Ian Flynn just knows how to write fun, adventurous, and amazing stories in the universe of Sonic the Hedgehog from the over dramatic villain to the fun quick thinking hero. As much as this is a Sonic solo title, this book would be nothing, as far as this story, without its supporting cast. All the heroes, the resistance, were an important role at some point in this arc.
With a new villain toying with Mr. Tinker and Metal Sonic out of the way, Dr. Eggman is sure to be not far behind as this story progresses. As someone who has just recently joined the Sonic the Hedgehog fandom, I’m still unsure as to who or what could possibly go after Sonic next. It’s clear Dr. Eggman’s henchmen want him back, but as of yet they don’t show much of a problem to Sonic and his friends.
Yardley continues to be amazing at this title in particular. Along with Matt Herms colors, this creative team continues to keep me drawn in and looking at every detail. They bring back that Saturday morning cartoon feeling in this book, and that is all I could ask for. Honorable mentions for great panels include; the resistance splash page – simply amazing – and Knuckles retrieving the Master Emerald – pure fun and laughable moment.
