The number one issue of Ant-Man and the Wasp is exactly what new readers need for a proper introduction to Nadia Van Dyne, Scott Lang, and the Microverse.

Within the first page there’s an immediate sense of humor in this book. Nadia and Scott’s relationship throughout this issue is not what you would expect from a classic partnership. Nadia is not exactly enthusiastic about helping Scott return to Earth, and she has a right to be. During the plans to make his return to Earth, Scott misses his mark, and Nadia is left to track him down in the Microverse. To her surprise, Scott claims he has been in the Microverse for two weeks, when on Earth it’s only been two minutes. Nadia explains that the laws and rules of physics and nature are not relevant in the Microverse, which is why it is so dangerous at times.

Through his time in the Microverse, Scott encounters a species called the Thetacorians, and notices a “micro space vampire” of sorts that is hurting them. With the Wasps help, they are quickly able to help but not with out consequence.
