Teen Titans #12 Review

What is this all about?

Damian Wayne has tracked down, captured, and reformed the Teen Titans. With Starfire, Raven, Aqualad, and Beast Boy. After stopping black manta and officially welcoming Aqualad to the team, it’s time for METAL!

The Review

Opening with the Riddler in prison, you hear a the sounds “Crow, Crow”. A wall burst opens and stands The Bat That Laughed and his army of Robins. He gives Riddler a Metal infused card and tells him, he can rewrite the rules and become a leader among men.

A mountain has suddenly appeared in Gotham. Damian and the Team are headed straight for it, despite Beast Boys gripes. They arrive, the team starts to help citizens out. Meanwhile Robin decides he has to go into the mountain now. There’s a giant door covered in question marks.

Riddler has built a maze, this is his way of fighting back and stopping anyone from getting in. While Robin is attempting to solve it. He is flooded in a room and saved by Green Arrow. Green Arrow is attempting to solve it as well, and wants to team up with Robin. Damian agrees but barely. A zombie batman shows up, arrow starts to attack it, when Killer Croc and Harley Quinn show up and take it down. They all go to the center of the maze, where Harley and Croc couldn’t solve the final puzzle.

Damian solves the puzzle and destroys Riddler’s giant robotic Bull. One the way to the next challenge, the group enter a snow covered area. suddenly Nightwing is running at them escaping a giant snow monster.

Final Words

This is the first tie in for the Metal event. We get our first in depth look at one of the evil batmen. The Bat that Laughs and his evil blood thirsty robins. I will say the art and story are top notch and if this is how the other tie ins stay, I can not wait. Seeing a team up of Robin, Green Arrow, Harley Quinn, and Killer Croc was interesting, but worked really well.
