General Zod is set free and Superman is trapped. We return to see our hero trapped in his own zombie hell trying to figure it all out. Zod is giving orders and wants Belle Reve destroyed and warns that he will stop whoever is in his way. The story continues to get better as we wait for what seems to be a great battle on the horizon. Seeing all of these villains out to destroy Superman definitely keeps you on the edge of your seat. Waiting to see how could Superman possibly come out on top. With a few surprise appearances in the issue and a big shocker at the end, Action Comics continues to be a great series.Action Comics #981

The cover art to this issue is one of my favorites out of this series. General Zod looks awesome and seeing Superman down on one knee is a sight that makes me want to find out more. The first few panels of this issue give you great artwork, matching that 90s vibe of the story. With superbly detailed pages depicting Superman’s hell, while trapped in The Black Vault. The fight panels in this issue really are a great set of panels that pop off the page at you. Making for fun-filled, well-paced action scenes, that are masterfully done by Zircher. Action Comics #981

It has been a while since I’ve been so excited to read a Superman comic. These issues continue to get better and make me want the next issue immediately. The issues gives you a story that Superman deserves and will hopefully bring back some old and new fans.
