The most recent addition to the cast for 2018’s Aquaman film is the Rocky IV actor, Dolph Lundgren.
Lundgren will be playing the King Nereus, who hails from the underwater colony of Xebel. Historically Nereus has had a hatred for Aquaman, and won’t acknowledge him as King of Atlantis. He was also betrothed to Mera, who is originally from Xebel, so I’d be willing to be that we’ll see some love triangle issues on film.

Aquaman will begin filming within the next month, and is set to release in theaters December 21, 2018.
