One of the DCEU movies that has been rapidly grabbing peoples’ attention is ‘Aquaman’. Directed by James Wan, this movie will be the first solo film featuring the King of Atlantis, and his second live-action adaptation (the first being ‘Justice League’).

Recently, several casting announcements for this movie have been made as well as the announcement that Don Burgess (Conjuring 2, Spider-Man) will be the film’s cinematographer.

Today, it was revealed via my entertainmentworld.com that the film will start shooting on May 22nd, 2017. A new synopsis of the film was also revealed:

“The film is about a superhero from the sea who can telepathically communicate with all sea creatures is caught between a rock and a hard place when the creatures of the sea want to revolt against the surface world.”

When that synopsis is added to the casting of Patrick Wilson as Orm, it seems more and more likely that ‘Aquaman’ will at least be based in part on the Throne of Atlantis story arc.

Aquaman is set to release on October 5th, 2018.
