Reviews of Warner Bros.’ latest entry in their Lego franchise, ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’, are starting to come in – and so far they’re glowing! Critics have been praising the film for it’s use of humor alongside it’s light-hearted storytelling. Daniel Krupa with IGN gave the movie an 8.5/10 saying “The Lego Batman Movie is a hilarious comedy, but also a great Batman movie, too.”
The movie sees the return of Will Arnett (from The LEGO movie) as Batman, and stars Michael Cera as Robin, and Zach Galifianakas as The Joker. Here’s the official plot synopsis for the film:
“In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure: “The LEGO Batman Movie.” But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.”
Right now, ‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ is sitting at a 98% on Rotten Tomatoes. We’ll see how much that number changes as more reviews come in for opening weekend. Ian and I will be there opening night, so you can expect a review from us this weekend as well.
‘The LEGO Batman Movie’ opens February 10th.
