Animosity #1 Review

I found this comic at the Tampa Bay Megacon, we walked past the Aftershock booth and I told him to sell me on some comics. Animosity was created and written by Marguerite Bennett with art by Rafael De Latorre and letterer Marshall Dillon. The basis of the story is that all of a sudden one day all of the animals “wake up”. What does this mean you ask? They can talk, feel and are totally aware of their lives and the way they were before that day.

The main characters are a little girl names Jesse and her dog named Sandor. The story brings you right into the day the animals wake up. Everything hits the fan and humans and animals are all having mixed reactions. It shows Sandor waking up to tell Jesse that he loves her and then defending the family against other animals and even the father.

It was a quick read as are most comics but the amount of emotion, story and comedy put into such a small amount of time really blew me away. The artwork is super clean and really holds the tone of the story in color and image. I cannot say enough about this comic and am very much looking forward to this series as it comes out. I would highly recommend picking up a copy.
